We collect the minimum data needed to run projects, keep the site secure, and answer inbound requests. This page explains what we gather, how we use it, and the controls you have.

FunkPd is a web development company based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The primary site lives at https://funkpd.com/ and any contact about privacy can go to privacy@funkpd.com. We process all data in Canada unless a service provider handles it elsewhere.
If you leave a comment we collect the data shown in the comment form, the IP address, and the browser user agent. We use that information for spam screening and security. An anonymized hash of your email address may be sent to Gravatar to check for an avatar.
Do not upload images with embedded location data. Visitors can download and extract EXIF data from files available on the site.
Messages submitted through our forms capture the details you provide, your IP address, a timestamp, and basic browser data for spam filtering. We use the message to reply to your request and store it for up to 12 months for reference on active engagements. We do not add you to marketing emails unless you ask.
Leaving a comment lets you opt into a cookie that remembers your name, email, and site for one year. Logging into an account sets temporary cookies to confirm your browser accepts cookies, login cookies that last two days, and screen option cookies that last a year. Selecting Remember Me keeps the login for two weeks. Editing or publishing sets an extra cookie with the post ID that expires in one day.
Articles on this site may include embedded content such as videos, images, or posts. Embedded content from other sites behaves the same as visiting that site directly. Those providers may collect data about you, use cookies, and track your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in with them.
We run lightweight analytics (aggregated visitor data) and security tooling (e.g., firewalls) to monitor traffic patterns and detect abuse. These tools record aggregated device, browser, and usage data and keep it for operational needs only.
We do not sell or rent personal data. Access is limited to FunkPd staff and trusted contractors bound by confidentiality. We share data only with service providers that deliver infrastructure, email, analytics, or payment services needed to run FunkPd, and only for the specific purpose you requested.
We rely on a small list of third-party processors. They operate under their own privacy terms and may process data outside Canada.
We review each processor annually to confirm security posture, data handling, and necessity.
Comments and related metadata stay in our system indefinitely so we can auto approve follow ups instead of holding them in moderation. If you create an account, we store the personal information you submit in your profile. Site administrators can see, edit, or delete that data. Contact form submissions remain for up to 12 months unless a project requires longer retention to finish the contracted scope.
Build assets (code/files), credentials (logins), and backups (data snapshots) created for delivery follow the project terms: they are transferred on completion and removed from our systems once the handoff is confirmed or the retention window expires.
If you have an account or have left comments, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold, including data you provided. You can ask us to erase the personal data we store. We comply unless we must retain information for administrative, legal, or security reasons.
Visitor comments may be checked through automated spam detection services. Our forms use reCAPTCHA and similar tools that process data to confirm that a human submitted the request. Those providers follow their own privacy policies.
Email privacy@funkpd.com for data requests, corrections, or deletion. Include the email address, account name, or URL involved so we can find your records. We respond within five business days.
