Context
Imprint is a design-led agency focused on fast, functional web delivery. The founder, Boris, handled visual direction and client relationships. I stepped in to take over the build side; translating high-fidelity mockups into fast, stable WordPress builds with minimal back-and-forth.
Problem
Imprint had strong visual assets but no internal dev muscle. Tight timelines, demanding clients, and no margin for technical delays meant they needed a backend partner who could work fast, think independently, and ship clean without constant handholding.
What We Did
Built and launched multiple client sites under the Imprint brand; handled theme integration, plugin logic, backend structure, and WordPress optimization. These weren’t boilerplate builds; each one had its own quirks, visual expectations, and UX logic. I translated static designs into clean frontend structure, added dynamic content logic where needed, and made sure Boris’s team could take full credit without firefighting bugs post-launch.
Result
→ Sites launched on time, on brand, and under stress
→ Client edits didn’t break layout or function
→ Fast feedback loop: Boris handled visual QA, I handled everything else
→ Several successful launches, including shared projects like Minetek and other SMBs
→ Partnership worked until the scale tipped; Imprint focused on design, I pivoted to deeper technical work
Status
Still on friendly terms. Would collaborate again on tight-scope builds. Not a long-term partner; but an efficient combo while it ran.
